Palace of Fine Arts + Baker Beach Maternity Shoot Photos - Erica and Oscar
July 21, 2019
Palace of Fine Arts, Baker Beach
Erica and Oscar held their family maternity shoot at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco on a windy summer day wearing a bright yellow maternity dress, Erica was glowing with excitement to be able to document their family in San Francisco while visiting from Southern California. Visiting family in Fresno, they decided to take a trip to San Francisco with a short three hour drive and decided to take advantage of the time away with a maternity shoot in one of their favorite cities in the world. Their sun Ian, was adoringly holding up his mom's long dress which resulted in one of my favorite moments of the day. If they ever renew their vows it would be the perfect wedding party member. Being a summer weekend In San Francisco, it was actually really crowded at the Palace of Fine Arts with several other photoshoots going on including a family shoot with about 30 people and a quinceanera with another dozen hanging out. Needless to say it was tough finding our sport without having other people in the photo. Fortunately with a little patience and a little maneuvering I think we made it seem as if we had the entire place to ourselves!
After our time at the Palace of Fine Arts, we moved onto our second location at the popular Baker Beach. Upon arrival it was nice and sunny just like it was at Palace of Fine Arts, but shortly after taking a few photos the clouds rolled in and it became overcast, despite... the entire family was all smiles and enjoying the beach. Baker Beach is known for it's charming view of the Golden Gate Bridge with makes it the popular location I've photographed in but Ian seemed a lot more interested in kicking sand around during the shoot. Fortunately, with a little coaxing from his parents, he left the sand and eventually joined them in the water. Along the shore, it was great spending this afternoon with the family and helping to document this special time in their lives before their second child arrives.
