I was walking around in the grocery store when my phone rang and showed an area code I had never seen before. Intrigued, I answered it and was lucky to talk to David, from Texas, who was inquiring about an engagement shoot. Working in San Francisco but still unfamiliar with the scene, he asked my suggestion for a best beach location in the City. Without hesitation, I suggested shooting at Baker Beach, which is an obvious choice because of its beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge.
I have only done a few "model shoots" so I was very nervous and excited to do David and Ericka's engagement shoot. We had scheduled to start at 5, but I came at 4 to scout the scene for ideas...I wanted everyone (OK, just myself!) to be as comfortable and organized as possible. We had set the 5pm start time to coincide with the sun setting, but unfortunately it was a really overcast day. Not the biggest deal, but the couples' plans of faking a Cancun beach (their wedding destination) might've been spoiled :) Overall, I'd give myself a B. I realized, after looking over the photos, I didn't have enough photos of the couple separated...they were more or less always together...holding hands, laughing, kissing, etc. Not that that's bad, but variety is always nice! I definately have my favorites to choose for their invitations, but I am oh so curious which one they pick! Congrats David and Ericka and thanks for allowing me to share such a special day with you!
