ItI had initially received an email from Alice saying she was in Amsterdam, but was getting married in San Francisco. Obviously, I had suspicions of the email being fake, since I get "those" emails from time to time. As I read on, the inquiry seemed legit, so I responded with my rates and details of the date. Fortunately, I received a response back from Alice and the date was set!
This was my first Wedding gig. Though a smaller affair than other weddings I have attended as a guest, I nevertheless was very intent on producing a great end result.
I arrived early at SF City Hall in the marriage section of the building, waiting for Alice to appear. Communicating with her solely through email and voice, I had no idea how she looked like! Anxious, I had approached seated couples eagerly awaiting their turn asking if the bride-to-be's name was Alice. 2 strikes and I was done.
Eventually, Alice and her then fiance David casually appeared and the party began! For my first Wedding gig I couldn't have asked for a more amiable couple. Well known is the wedding day stress, and I expected it to come out full throttle once they arrived...but Alice and David were extremely calm and made my worries instantly go away. They made my job a whole lot easier and I think their carefree attitude is apparent in all the photos. All they knew is they loved each other and didn't care about having a long drawn out ceremony nor having a huge crowd. I actually think that's how I want my wedding to be...
Being at City Hall, they had to wait a few minutes until their number was called for the paperwork signing. After that a short ceremony with the exchanging of rings and the deal had been sealed!
Thanks to David and Alice for being totally awesome and best wishes to you both!!!
