One of the greatest things about being a photographer is I get the capture the moments that matter the most. As a photographer, the picture I take allows my clients to savor that moment and feeling in a picture and relive it over and over. It's a huge job, but it's very rewarding. Last Wednesday, I did my first videography gig for a marriage proposal. We shot at Sutro heights Park near Ocean Beach in San Francisco. Argel, has been planning this very special occasion very carefully and meticulously, so I knew I had to do an awesome job. He drove from Los Angeles to San Francisco, changed into a tuxedo for the proposal, and hired Andy Kong to play "Secrets" by One Republic as he climbed up to propose to Jessica. All of their friends and family were there to share this special moment with them as well. It was a very fun experience. I am hoping to work more with videography! Congrats, again Argel and Jessica!

Yesterday, I got the opportunity to work with the company Terraboost as their photographer in Dublin, California. In order to spread awareness and further interest about the company, I took pictures of customers using their hand-sanitizing advertisement products. I shot at two locations-- at the Safeway on Dublin Blvd. and the Safeway on Tassajara blvd. This photographs will hopefully ensure that Safeway continues to utilize their product. I think Terraboost is on to something-- advertisements while sanitizing hands is a great marketing tool! I hope to get involved in more marketing and advertising!
This month, I had done a series of shoots for a couple of academic events at Stanford University. It felt great to be on Stanford's campus, knowing its prestige and greatness. Not to mention the campus is absolutely beautiful. The first event I shot was held on September 10, 2012, where a New York Times Reporter and Writer spoke to Stanford students. The second event I shot was on September 17, 2012 where a panel of guest speakers spoke to students about their experiences. The third event I shot was on September 19, 2012 where photography students presented posters they created and then spoke at the podium about them. I haven't shot many student events before, but I feel like the pictures came out great and very professional. Would love to work with Stanford University again or with other colleges as well! I usually do a lot of family, wedding, and events shoots, but I got to do something a little different this time around. This weekend, I did product shoots for a small clothing company located in the East Bay called A5 Clothing. They specialize in graphic t-shirts and hoodies. Very fun!
The shots turned out really great. I'm very proud of my work! Just updating you on a fun shoot I did recently. Last week, I took pictures as the actual Kiosk design for Cako Cupcakes and Ice Cream at Westfield Oakridge in San Jose. I don't know if you've ever seen these little stands, but they are in a bunch of Westfield malls in the area. And did I mention that the cupcakes and treats are delicious? I shot again a couple days later due to lighting and plumbing problems. It was nothing to fret over however. I think the pictures turned out great! S visions Inc. is the company that designed the actual Cako kiosk. This isn't the first time I've worked with them; I worked with them previously at the Westfield Solana in Fairfield and at the Westfield San Francisco Center. Looking forward to working with them again! Yesterday, I shot Rosa's mother's 50th Birthday party at the Oyster Point Yacht club in South San Francisco. The Oyster Point Yacht club was a great location with a waterfront view--quite spectacular. It was a very big event--around 120 guests, and 20 that were children. I also set up onsite printing, so that the guests could walk away with some memoranda from the party. I always have a blast shooting birthday parties--they are always very lively and filled with great moments perfect for picture-taking.
-Ian As a photographer, I get the capture the many moments that people will cherish for the rest of their lives. It may seem like a lot of pressure for some people--after all these are the events that matter most. But I enjoy it. It mean a lot to me that the photos I take can allow my clients to relive these times over and over again.
Yesterday, I shot a Wedding vow renewal at the Presidio Chapel Church in San Francisco. It was a small, simple, and very intimate ceremony consisting of only Len, her husband, and their three children. It was a pleasure shooting this amazing family celebration! While I'm very used to shooting weddings, this was something a little different but equally as touching. -Ian Last night, I shot a 40th surprise birthday party for my client, Alison at the bar Bourbon and Branch in Downtown San Francisco. I love shooting this event--especially because of its location. I've heard a lot about Bourbon and Branch, but this was my first time actually being there! Whenever I pass by, the place is usually packed. The event was very low-key with around 40 lively, fun guests. Bourbon and Branch is very classy, and not too crazy--which I liked. The lighting was very low and ambient--perfect for a little get together in San Francisco.
-Ian I love shooting in the summer in San Francisco: Nice weather, some sun, bay breezes... Although today was a bit overcast and cloudy, I enjoyed this shoot.
I shot the Cho family today at Baker Beach in San Francisco this morning. Baker Beach is one of my favorite beaches here because of the beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge. I had the pleasure of working with the Cho's and their little boy and girl. I always have a lot of fun working with families! Joanne Cho's mother and father were also visiting from Canada, so they got to join us for the shoot. I look forward to doing more family shoots! -Ian Recently, I took pictures for Kate Kennedy and her birth announcement for her newly born baby. She needed a photographer to take a couple pictures of her, her husband, and her daughter for the announcement of their new baby. Seems like I have been getting a lot family photoshoot gigs lately, and I can't complain. I genuinely enjoy capturing these special moments that these families will have forever. Congrats, Kate, on the new baby again!
