Did a cool shoot today. I shot for the company PayPal (San Jose). They needed a professional photographer for an event. I shot specifically for the RnD section of the company, which consist of workers who showcase their ideas to the heads of the departments, and they are voted on for best of show awards. Very cool!
They also needed a fun photobooth, which I set up for the event!
Happy Valentines' Day for all you lovebirds!
I spent my Valentine's Day cuddling with my camera. Just kidding. Today, I shot one of the coolest gigs. Ryan Steiger for CBS Interactive approached me because he needed a photographer to shoot their Zombie valentine themed party in which they hosted a video gaming tournament and costume contest. The tournament was part of the testing for the new Resident evil video game. It was pretty awesome seeing everyone decked out in their Zombie costumes. They even had artists doing zombie make up! The best part was that there was a couple who renewed their vows zombie-style.
Such a fun event. Hope to do more events like this!
The holidays are coming up quick!
I've been doing a lot of shoots, and I can't complain about it.
Yesterday, I shot another birthday party. I shot Gina Garcia's 35th Birthday party that was held at a bar in San Francisco's Financial District called Trademark. It was a fun, tasteful way to celebrate a birthday party. Gina had all her friends and family at the party. While they had fun, I shot the moments. I love shooting events that happen at night in San Francisco. After all, San Francisco has a great night life.
Yesterday, I shot a wedding reception at Hong Kong Flower Lounge in Millbrae, San Francisco. It wasn't like most receptions that I've shot in the past--it was a special Chinese banquet reception; many of Rosanna's family and friends joined her and her husband for this event. The food seemed amazing-- it looked like a great place for some delicious dim sum.
Yesterday, I shot Rosa's mother's 50th Birthday party at the Oyster Point Yacht club in South San Francisco. The Oyster Point Yacht club was a great location with a waterfront view--quite spectacular. It was a very big event--around 120 guests, and 20 that were children. I also set up onsite printing, so that the guests could walk away with some memoranda from the party. I always have a blast shooting birthday parties--they are always very lively and filled with great moments perfect for picture-taking.
I had the chance to shoot my client Kathy's son throughout his entire football season. Shooting Sports is always very exciting-- a lot of commotion, energy, and fun. Her son plays for Carlmont High School in Belmont, California. I shot her son during all his football games at various locations, but mainly at the Carlmont High School football games. I was able to implement my videography skills as well by recording videos of the games. I hope to shoot more sports events!
Shot another wedding event! This time, I shot a wedding in Oakland, at the wonderful Dunsmuir Hellman historic estate. This place was amazing--it had a Neo-classical inspired white mansion. I felt like I was in the 18th century! It was elegant and classic. A perfect place to shoot a wedding. The evening wedding included about 55 guests and 6 kids. I loved capturing the candid moments of the groom and bride. Looking forward to more weddings!
Michelle Garcia approached me to shoot her wedding, and I was more than happy to do it. The wedding took place on a beautiful fall afternoon in October. The wedding was small and intimate, held at Park Chalet Garden Restaurant in Golden Gate Park located on 1000 Great Highway. Park Chalet was simple, elegant, and classy. I've shot many weddings in the San Francisco Area, and I have to say, I enjoy shooting at all the beautiful locations in San Francisco Bay Area. I wish Michelle Garcia and Karl Benke much luck!
As a photographer, I get the capture the many moments that people will cherish for the rest of their lives. It may seem like a lot of pressure for some people--after all these are the events that matter most. But I enjoy it. It mean a lot to me that the photos I take can allow my clients to relive these times over and over again.
Yesterday, I shot a Wedding vow renewal at the Presidio Chapel Church in San Francisco. It was a small, simple, and very intimate ceremony consisting of only Len, her husband, and their three children. It was a pleasure shooting this amazing family celebration!
While I'm very used to shooting weddings, this was something a little different but equally as touching.
Last night, I shot another wedding proposal for my client Kevin. This was the first time him and his girlfriend have been to San Francisco, so it was a very special and exciting day for both of them! The proposal took place at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. I managed to capture the very moment he proposed to her--very touching. I also took pictures a little before and after the proposal, just so that the could remember this day forever. Congrats again, Kevin!
