Saturday marked the birthday celebration of a good friend of mine, Mai Tien. Always the one to plan parties and organize fun things, this year for her birthday the theme was Prom. Everything done small yet extravagant, her place was appropriately coordinated, from the crowning of the king and queen to a section for couples photos - which I suppose is where I came in!
I borrowed a strobe and umbrella to help accent the Prom mood and the added light made a huge difference in the outcome of the photos.
Happy birthday Mai Tien!
At my first gig, Nouzha had mentioned she was going to have a workshop with her students in November. She gave me the date and I saved it on my phone. As the days became hours, I had not received an email or call and was wondering whether I was still needed :(
Anticipating the gig, my batteries were charged and memory cards cleared...all that was left was the confirmation!
Fortunately, at around 930 PM I got the welcome call and the next morning was in San Rafael. The kids were engrossed with the days activities and most acted as if I weren't there...the best audience for a photographer.
Kids being kids always helps make my "job" easy, and the days events reminded me why I wanted to be a preschool teacher at one point in my life...
