San Francisco City Hall Wedding - Alfredo and Brian
August 5, 2016
San Francisco City Hall
Alfredo and Brian decided to have their wedding at San Francisco City Hall, despite meeting and living in Seattle, because Alfredo is from San Francisco but it also allowed Brian's family a good reason to visit the wonderful City by the Bay. I actually know Alfredo from high school, as we graduated the same year, and I was super excited to hear from him about his special day. I was curious how many of our old classmates would be there, as it had been so many years since our graduation!. Upon hearing it was only family attending, it made total sense because I remember Alfredo being close with his family, but also not being the type who made a big deal of things. Despite only lasting a few minutes, the whole ceremony stirred up a lot of emotion for the two Grooms, and one of my favorite photos from the day was when Alfredo was giving his “ugly crying face," as he put it, as he received a hug from his sister. Moments like these are what I live for in hoping to capture the feeling of the day, and to help bring you back to that moment even after 40 years.
Going into this celebration, I knew I wanted to experiment with an idea of creating a rainbow, as I am constantly looking for new ways to push myself creatively. Though a little corny, I was pleasantly surprised with the results and am super excited to try it out in the future! Can you guess how I did it?! :)
Going over the images, its so great to see my old high school friend look as happy and carefree as I remember him. Some things never change, and I'm so glad I was able to help capture some memories for him. If "Adult" Alfredo is anything like "High School" Alfredo, Brian found the best guy out there.
